Mark Zuckerberg has Olympian-level competition in apologizing to the world for dead kids. Enter Sam Altman. There isn't ever a real apology from Sam when users go mentally haywire using ChatGPT. How do you apologize for a machine?
"our models are starting to present some real problems..."
Sam Altman is upping the game by hiring for 'Head of Preparedness' with a $555k salary. This dude will have his hands full; that is, with subjective harmful lawsuits from parents revealing no oversight on their teen's AI addiction. Missing, I believe, from the job description is a "preparedness" expectation for him to be in a courtroom to defend OpenAI's framework.
OpenAI updated Preparedness Framework:
We’re now adding more detail about how we’ll design strong safeguards and verify their effectiveness in dedicated Safeguards Reports
Our own intelligence 101 enables us to see Mark and Sam don't care about anything but that which AI can do, good or bad. Nothing else even as AI reaches
People, cultures, jobs, earth resources, education, Federal policies, Universal Basic Income, joblessness, wars, healthcare, cyber, travel, genetics...
..'we are entering a world where we need more nuanced understanding and measurement of how those capabilities could be abused..' Altman
Believable?
